GP3 and Formula 2 had their qualifying today, but with some mixed feelings.
The first qualifying of today was with the Formula 2. Both drivers were going out with the supersoft compound to try to get a strong lap time in the first run. That plan came soon to an end for Ralph Boschung he lost power during his first run caused by the turbo. Ralph was never able to get back on track again, so his qualifying was over. Roberto Merhi struggled to get his lap together, and so he qualified 14th.
P14 Roberto Merhi
P20 Ralph Boschung
He crossed the finish line with 1 sec to go and managed to get pole position in the last lap. We are talking about Dorian Boccolacci who had a strong qualifying since the beginning.
Niko Kari wasn’t happy about his 6th position in the qualifying. This tells that he felt there was for sure more in it.
It was his first qualifying and the second time in a GP3 car. With just 0,6 sec from the pole position, Christian Lundgaard managed to take the 11th start position. An outstanding job from him!
