Formula 2 Austrian GP – Race Two

Formula 2 Austrian GP – Race Two

The cars drove from the paddock to the F1 pitlane, and all the MP Motorsport cars worked fine. Roberto started his car when the pitlane opened, and suddenly it wouldn’t go in first gear anymore. After a quick research, the team managed to fix the problem, But it was too late to go to the grid, and so Merhi had to start out of the pitlane. (original start position: 5th) “It is super frustrating when you first see that the car is working fine and then out of nowhere it gets an issue.”

The start of the race started behind the Safety car with Ralph at the 19th position followed by Merhi coming out of the pit lane. Merhi went up two places during the first ten laps. Ralph struggled to get forward in the beginning, while his lap times were as good as the front runners.

After all, Merhi and Ralph Profitted from an incident and they had some proper overtakes. They finally moved up to P16 (Merhi) and p15 (Ralph) during the last laps.

P15 Ralph Boschung
P16 Roberto Merhi
