Devlin withdraws from Hungarian GP3 round with Illness
Devlin DeFrancesco will miss this weekend’s GP3 round at the Hungaroring after falling ill.
The Italian-Canadian is suffering from gastroenteritis (a stomach virus) and initially sat out of the practice session this morning with the intention of competing in qualifying tomorrow. However as his symptoms worsened it was declared he was not race-fit and will be withdrawing from the round, missing the final two races before the summer break to return to London.
Having run well at the Hungaroring already this season, in the FIA European Formula Three Championship, Devlin is understandably disappointed to miss out on the opportunity to go well again but must prioritise his health.
Devlin will be back on track after the summer break, in Spa at the end of August for Round 6 of the GP3 championship where he’ll be looking to make up for lost time with a strong weekend.
