Race two was delayed by more than an hour after a massive crash in another race category. Christian started 3rd, and he tried to copy precisely his move from race one, but this time he was on the outside instead of the inside on the straight after Eau Rouge what resulted in one position lose to 4th. Jarno Opmeer and Alex Peroni kept the same place because the safety car went out when half of the first lap was done. The reason was a big crash at the start of the race in turn one.
The safety car went in with 16 min to go. Christian restarted the race with a gap to the 3rd position what resulted in a direct pressure from the driver on 5th position. He lost for a moment his 4th position but managed to get it back straight after that.
Lundgaard started to struggle more during the last three laps because of a throttle sensor issue. He had to defend too much in the last and first corner, and that gave four drivers behind him an opportunity to slipstream through Eau Rouge. That opportunity cost him many positions.
Alex Peroni and Jarno Opmeer both went in a battle with each other for 14th position, but that didn’t go well after they hit each other in the second last lap. Both drivers didn’t finish the race.
P8 Christian Lundgaard
