MP Motorsport got their first Formula 2 test of the season at Circuito de Jerez in Spain. The three days long test ended today with the English driver Jordan King (Car #16) and the Dutch driver Richard Verschoor (Car #17) behind the steering wheel.
Richard Verschoor finished 7th with a lap time of 1:26.6 during the afternoon session of the second test day. This was his best result during the three days of testing on the Spanish circuit. His personal best lap time (1:24.638) was set this morning. The best outcome for Jordan King was during today’s afternoon session. His lap time 1:25.706 was strong enough to close the third test day as fastest.
“Result-wise it could be better for sure, but I am strict to myself. I shouldn’t be unsatisfied after this unexpected opportunity to test the Formula 2 car for three days without much of a preparation. The race simulations were difficult, but on the other hand, I learnt a lot from it. The qualifying simulations were going much better during the days. One morning we were 0.4 sec of the fastest driver, and I still felt that there was more potential in it. I am not going to make excuses. I have to keep working!” – Richard Verschoor
“First of all an amazing effort from the guys to built up a complete car in 36 hours after our setback on Monday. It was a top effort what made it possible to get a solid day of testing. We ran through some good things and made some good progress and to end the day as fastest made it pretty special. Congratulations to everybody involved with that!” – Jordan King
