And that was the final race weekend of the FIA Formula 2 season. We finished with quite the weekend. Felipe finished on the podium again, not as we’re used to though. Felipe was fighting for P1 again during the Feature Race, but got touched from behind and almost spun, therefore he lost some positions. He fought back to P3, and with some heavy defending from Mazepin, he ended just behind the podium on P4. After the race, Mazepin still received a two 5-second penalty which made him drop to P9, and Felipe got promoted to P3. Giuliano finished on P15 during the Feature Race but had a great come back during the Sprint Race. He finished on P6, which was also his highest finish of the season! Felipe finished on P8 which means we had both cars finishing in the points.

Looking back, it was a great way to finish the season. We have been on the podium 5 times, with 4 wins. 2 Feature Races, 2 Sprint races, and 1 third place, 2 wins in one weekend, 1 pole position, and a lot of exciting races! The team finished on P6, with 167 points. Felipe finished on P9 with 121 points, Giuliano on P17 with 12 points, and Nobu finished on P15 with 42 points.

Giuliano Alesi: “It was a pretty good weekend. I am really happy with my highest finish of the season and had a lot of fun. Thanks to MP Motorsport for the fantastic last three rounds we had together! I really enjoyed working with all of you and wish you all the best next season!”

Felipe Drugovich: “It was a very good weekend overall, P5 in quali with the potential of a higher result. We had great pace in the Feature Race and even had the chance to win because I was at P2 at some point, but I almost spun around by being touched from behind. Luckily I could keep it going and finished on P4 because of some aggressive driving, which Mazepin got penalized for. So, in the end, it was P3 anyway and I’m very happy with that, even though we deserved more. The second race was tougher, starting from P6, got it a little bit wrong but overall happy with the weekend. I’d like to thank the entire MP Motorsport team for the best year of my career! 3 victories and 4 podiums says it all! I’ve learned a lot and we’ve grown a lot as a whole. I enjoyed it so much and have been happy at all times. Thank you so much.”

Felipe will drive for UNI Virtuosi in 2021, at this moment, it is not yet known what Giuliano’s future will hold. We wish both drivers good luck with their careers. Thank you both for this amazing season!
