Big win for the MP team during the Formula Winter Series

Formula 4 — March 6, 2024

For the third round of the Formula Winter Series, the MP team traveled to Aragón. A newcomer to the FWS was Keanu Al Azhari, who managed to get both a pole position and P2 during the qualifying sessions. The rest of the MP drivers all managed to get into the top twenty during both sessions. Maciej Gladysz got a P5 and P11, René Lammers P8 and P14, Lucas Fluxá got a P11 and P8. After celebrating his birthday, Griffin Peebles qualified at P17 and P10, with Peter Bouzinelos following him up at P19 and P16.

Race 1
First race of the weekend and a win for Keanu. After comfortably sitting on top of the grid he managed to defend his position. He got the win and the fastest lap. Lucas gained a total of seven positions and finished at an amazing P4. René also had a great race finishing at the sixth position. Griffin managed to finish into the points at P10 and Peter fell behind because of chaos in the back of the grid. He finished at P31.

Maciej got into a big crash in the beginning which led to him having to stop his race. Thankfully he got out OK and due to amazing work by the MP team, he was able to take part in the following two races the next day.

Race 2
The second podium for Keanu became a fact after holding on to his position in the second race. P2 for him. Maciej got back strong after a tough Saturday and finished in the points at P10. Griffin got P14 with René finishing a few places behind him at P18. This time Lucas was the unlucky one, who got taken out at the hairpin and he had to retire the car. Peter was able to start the race but had to go back to the pits due to technical issues.

Race 3
The third race of the Formula Winter Series finished off the weekend. Griffin was on fire and almost managed to take home a podium spot, but because of a late safety car wasn’t able to finish higher than fourth. Maciej had his best race of the weekend and managed to get P7, with René behind him at P8.
Unfortunately, three MP drivers didn’t manage to finish the race. Both Keanu and Lucas were involved in a crash, Peter wasn’t able to start the race because of technical issues.

Next week the Winter Series is traveling to Barcelona for the last round of the season, where Griffin can take home the championship!
