Last weekend was the second round of the Eurocup-3 season, which took place on the Motorland Aragon circuit in Spain. A weekend with highs and lows and with podiums for both Sebastian Ogaard and Joss Garfias!
Our weekend began on Saturday with Qualifying 1 and later in the day Race 1. In Qualifying 1 Sebastian Ogaard set a time good for the 2nd row, with Bruno just behind him on the 2nd row as well. Sebastian O. came in 3rd, P4 Bruno, P7 Joss and P8 Sebastian G.
With Qualifying 1 setting the grid for Race 1 later on Saturday, we started the race from our qualifying positions. Due to the front runner having issues, Sebastian O. moved up into P2 10 minutes into Race 1. With no safety cars and a clean race, we ended the Race with Sebastian O. P2, P4 Joss, P5 Bruno and P6 Sebastian G. A first podium of the season for Sebastian Ogaard!
Sunday meant Qualifying 2 and Race 2, with the qualifying grid being set first, and the MP team starting the race with P2 Bruno, P5 Joss, P7 Sebastian O. and P11 Sebastian G. Bruno got overtaken on the race start, slotting into P3 where he kept running for the entire race. Unfortunately, Sebastian G. collided with a competitor and was out of the race. With Joss and Sebastian O. close behind, Bruno who was still running in P3 got pressured into some mistakes, which made him ultimately receive a penalty for track limits. This dropped him down to P7, leading to Joss inheriting P3 and getting his first podium of the season.
