The Eurocup-3 team arrived for the penultimate round in Cheste, racing on the Circuit Ricardo Tormo close to Valencia. We’ve had a good weekend with multiple podiums, including a second all-MP podium.
The first qualifying session was decent with 4 MP cars in the top 5. Joss qualified in second, Mari behind him in third, Sebastian O. in P4, Bruno in P5 and Sebastian G. qualified in seventh. Without many overtaking possibilities, Race 1 finished in a similar order. Joss had his best result of the season by crossing the finish line in second and having to defend against Mari in third, Sebastian O. and Bruno finished in P5 and 6, and Sebastian G. in P8.
Sunday’s qualifying session for the second race was better, with the complete top 4 being covered with orange cars. Mari took his fifth pole position of the season, Sebastian O. and Joss followed him in second and third, with Bruno qualifying in P4. Sebastian G. completed the top 10. The top 4 of Race 2 finished as they started, which were important championship points for Mari. Sebastian G. made up two positions and finished in eight. This was the second full MP podium, as we finished with the same top 3 order in Estoril.
By finishing in the points twice, Bruno won the Rookie Championship with one more round to go. The next and final round will be in the weekend of 11 and 12 November and will take place on Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Mari goes into the final round with a point difference between him and Masson. Besides that, Sebastian O. is still in the title fight covering the third position.
