The summer break is over and we start the second half of the season at our home GP in Zandvoort. The Dutch weather proved to be challenging throughout the weekend.
Dennis managed a P2 and Jehan P6 during the weekend’s only free practice, which ended after a red flag. The Friday stayed dry, qualifying started off with Dennis in P2. He was improving until a red flag caused by Jehan after spinning. Which ended his qualifying early. After the restart, Dennis went for a quick lap going green and purple in the first 2 sectors but again the red flag was thrown out the moment Dennis came out of the last corner. Dennis left the pitlane with 3 minutes to go for a last shot, and after improving his personal first sector the red flag was thrown out once again. Dennis qualified P2 for the feature race P9 for the sprint race in the end and Jehan P16 for the Feature Race, and P14 for the Sprint Race after penalties.
The F2 sprint got delayed due to the wet weather. After some time, the sprint would start behind the safety car in wet conditions. Dennis lost some places after a rolling start and going wide in the first corner ending in P10 while Jehan moved up to P11 in lap 1. The start didn’t last long, however, after 3 cars crashed. The safety car got deployed but it didn’t take long till the red flag was thrown out. After some time, they restarted behind the safety car but the conditions weren’t good enough and the race ended early. No points were awarded.
The Feature race started with a rolling start due to the damp conditions. Dennis managed to stay in P2 and Jehan moved up to P11 after a chaotic start which got the safety car deployed. Jehan boxed on lap 5 and Dennis on lap 8 both for mediums getting out in P19 and P5. Dennis got pushed off the track after his pitstop and got unlucky with the safety car which made him lose places. Dennis managed to finish P5 and Jehan finished P16 in the end.

The second to last race of the Formula 2 season will take place in the Temple of Speed in Monza.
