FRMEC R1 Abu Dhabi

FRECA — January 15, 2024

It is 2024’s first race, and the FRMEC team went to Abu Dhabi in the UAE where we raced on the Yas Marina Circuit. It was a challenging weekend, but we were able to score our first points.

Qualifying 1 and 2 happened right after each other on Saturday, where Valerio managed to qualify in P10 for both sessions. Nikhil found himself in P19 during qualifying 1 and Bruno in P21. Emerson qualified in P23. Qualifying 2 saw Bruno in P19, Nikhil in P20 and Emerson behind them in P22.

Race 1 went on without any issues, Valerio just missed out on the points, finishing in P11 after being overtaken during lap 8. Nikhil managed to gain places by finishing in P14. Bruno finished in P17 and Emerson in P20 with a great defensive move around the outside keeping 2 cars behind!

Race 3 had an exciting battle between Valerio, Bruno and Nikhil. Eventually, Bruno managed to get ahead and finished in P13 with Nikhil and Valerio in P14 and P15. Unfortunately, Emerson had to retire the car due to an issue.
