FRMEC R4 Abu Dhabi

FRECA — February 12, 2024

With the final round of the FRMEC season in eyesight, we travelled for the last time to Abu Dhabi. The team was eager for more after a win in the third round. As per the last round, Isaac Barashi has taken over Valerio Rinicella’s seat and will finish the season with us.

The weekend started a day earlier because many drivers had the official F2 and F3 tests in Bahrain starting on Sunday, the first qualifying session and race took place on Friday. Bruno and Nikhil qualified in P11 and P12, Isaac followed in P16 and Emmo in P25. In the second qualifying session which started right after the first, Nikhil qualified in tenth, Bruno in P11, Isaac in P20 and Emmo in 27. Due to technical issues, the first race could not be live-streamed, Nikhil finished in eight, with Bruno close in P10. Emmo and Isaac finished in 17 and 18.

For the second race the top 10 is reversed which meant Bruno started from pole position, and Nikhil in third. Bruno kept the lead for the entire race, but halfway through his suspension broke out of nowhere and he ended up in the wall. Finishing his race in a painful way for him and the team. Nikhil dropped back to the sixth position, Emmo had a great race finishing just outside the top 10 in eleventh with Isaac finishing in P18.

Bruno scored another point in the third and final race, finishing tenth. Bruno was fighting with Nikhil for the entire race but in the final lap, Nikhil spun and couldn’t make it to the finish flag. Emmo finished in P15 and Isaac in P19.
