Dennis Hauger will prolong his stay with MP Motorsport in the FIA Formula 2 Championship after signing for a renewed assault in 2024. On the back of his two victories this season, the Norwegian driver hopes to add more wins in another season in the Formula 1 feeder series.
With one round of the 2023 championship still to go, Hauger is confident enough to re-sign with the Dutch team, having already won with MP at Albert Park and the Hungaroring this season while also racking up four podiums and a fastest race lap. Teaming up with F3 frontrunner Franco Colapinto in 2024, Hauger will provide vital stability to the team as the championship progresses to the new Dallara-Mécachrome F2-2024 car.
“I’m really happy to stay with MP Motorsport for another season of FIA Formula 2”, said Hauger. “I’m truly looking forward to the challenge of setting up a winning new F2 car, as we aim to build on the experience we gained as a team working together in 2023. I welcome Franco as my new team mate – he’s a familiar face to MP too, and that can only be to our advantage in the transitional winter period while getting to grips with the new car.”

Having signed both at a very early stage will surely contribute to our getting up to speed as soon as we can.”
Before stepping up to Formula 2 and winning twice in his debut season in 2021, Hauger spent two years in FIA F3, wrapping up the title in dominant fashion in 2021. In 2019, he took the Italian Formula 4 title by storm with 12 wins, 16 podiums and five pole positions while also claiming second in the German F4 series, racking up another six wins, ten podiums and five poles. In his first season in single-seaters, the Norwegian took fourth in British F4 in 2018, with four wins, ten podiums and two pole positions. This came after many extremely successful years in karting in which he won several titles.
