Ahead of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, MP Motorsport joined the Netherlands Business Council UAE on 4 December for an exclusive event in Dubai to share its vision with business leaders and motorsport enthusiasts. MP Motorsport runs cars in both the FIA Formula 2 Championship and the F1 Academy series that support the headlining Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
MP’s Formula 2 driver Richard Verschoor spoke about the teamwork and perseverance required to compete at the highest level. “MP Motorsport has been instrumental in my career, helping me grow both on and off the track,” Verschoor said about the voyage from his single-seater debut in 2016 – also with MP – to his race-winning performances in every FIA Formula 2 championship he has competed in so far. Verschoor will be back with MP for more Formula 2 in 2025.
Emely de Heus, representing the F1 Academy, shared her inspiring journey as a female driver breaking barriers. “I’m proud to be part of a team that believes in inclusivity and creating opportunities for everyone,” De Heus noted as she prepares for this season’s final round at the Yas Marina circuit.
Wouter Blokhuis, the team’s F1 Academy manager, emphasised MP Motorsport’s focus on talent development, sustainability and inclusivity. “We live our motto of ‘Accelerating Talent’ all year by nurturing young drivers and engineers. We will continue our efforts to innovate for a more environmentally friendly future while also promoting diversity within motorsport.”
The event offered a unique platform to showcase MP Motorsport’s broader mission while fostering connections with potential partners who share the same vision.
