Spanish F4 Round 6 Valencia

Formula 4 — October 17, 2023

Back for another race week, as the Spanish Formula 4 team moved to Valencia where the Eurocup-3 championship joined them. This was an important round with a double podium for Valerio, securing important points in the runner-up championship fight. This weekend Reno Francot joined us as we raced with 5 cars in total.

Valerio started from the second position during Race 1. He took the lead coming out of the second turn. Right after that the safety car had to come out with cars colliding in the back. While the safety car was out, cars collided on the start-finish straight. After 10 minutes of the safety car, the grid went racing again. Valerio had to defend his P1 but took the win! Reno finished in P11, Keanu in P13, Alvise in P19 and Pedro in P22.

Valerio started in pole for the second race, which was his fourth pole of the season. Unfortunately, he had a slow start and took the second position after turn 1. Keanu was driving in eighth and Pedro in tenth when the safety car had to come out with 15 minutes left. With less than 8 minutes on the clock, the pack went racing again, although it didn’t last long because after a minute two cars collided and the safety car had to come out again. With only a minute left they went racing again, but not much changed in the order. Valerio finished second, Keanu in P7, Pedro in P10, Reno in P15 and Alvise in P30.

With one more race left on Sunday afternoon, the weekend was almost finished for MP. Valerio and Pedro started in the top 10, but Pedro locked up in the opening lap and fell back to the back of the grid. Valerio had a tough race and fell back to P7 while he started from third. Keanu was driving in the top 10 for the entire race. Compared to the other two races, it was a calm start to the race as the first safety car had to come out after being halfway through the race. With 8 minutes left, we were back racing but after another incident, the safety car was deployed again. The race didn’t last long as the session was red-flagged when a car got stuck during the restart. Valerio finished in P7, Keanu behind him in eighth, Alvise in P14, Reno in 18 and Pedro in P25.

Driver standings after round 6:
P4 Valerio – 211 points
P6 Pedro – 141 points
P9 Keanu – 91 points
P20 Alvise – 4 points

The next and final race this season will be held in Barcelona in the weekend of 11 November.
