Alba Larsen will continue with MP Motorsport for a renewed F1 Academy challenge in 2026. Freshly enrolled as a Ferrari junior in the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, the talented Danish teenager aims to fight at the front in her sophomore season, following a highly promising debut in the F1 Grand Prix-supporting category that champions the next generation of female motor racing talent.

Alba Hurup Larsen was always going to renew her ties with the Dutch team after rounding off her debut F1 Academy season with a powerful performance at Las Vegas, where once again she proved to be among the fastest rookies in the 18-car field. By equalling her season’s best qualifying spot of third and finishing fourth in the main race, she capped a season of strong points finishes that netted her seventh overall in the final standings of the burgeoning all-female series. The 16-year-old from Roskilde will race in full Scuderia Ferrari HP livery and joins fellow F1 Academy sophomore Nina Gademan in MP Motorsport’s three-car line-up, with the third driver’s announcement due shortly.

“Remaining with MP for a second season in F1 Academy was Plan A from the beginning, and our results only confirm my intention”, said Alba Larsen. “I love the family atmosphere in the team, everyone has been extremely supportive. That has allowed me to develop a strong working relationship with my engineers and mechanics, which I’m sure will pay off when we will arrive with the experience of a full F1 Academy season behind our backs. I’m looking forward to a strong winter preparation with the team to hit the ground running in the first 2026 round at Shanghai. Let’s go for as many podiums as we can!”

“I’m extremely pleased that Alba will remain part of our F1 Academy family for 2026”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “Her debut year was nothing but exceptional, and we truly enjoyed working with her and seeing her grow as the season developed. I’m confident that she will be one of F1 Academy drivers to watch in 2026, and despite her young age, she is fully capable of being a team leader. Together with Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy and F1 Academy, we will help Alba inspire young girls worldwide to chase their dreams.”

Prior to making the step up to F1 Academy, Alba Larsen raced with MP Motorsport in the 2024 Indian Formula 4 Championship after winning the fourth edition of the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars programme, promoted by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission in conjunction with the Ferrari Driver Academy and Iron Dames. More than just a racing driver, Alba Larsen also launched the Alba Academy in 2024, an initiative that aims to introduce more girls to motorsports. Following a successful start in Copenhagen, the Alba Academy is expanding to Sweden, Germany, US and China, with a goal of engaging 15,000 girls.
