Continuing, René also lost out on the launch and dropped to P10 when braking for turn 2 he was forced to avoid an incident ahead of him, while Alceu made up 4 positions to P15.

As the race progressed, René on lap 3 overtook Strauven around the inside to take P9. Later, at the midway point of the race, Alceu overtook Fiorentino and took P14 to continue his climb.

Unfortunately, on lap 13 with eight minutes remaining, Bustamante stopped, which brought out a safety car which remained until lap 17.

All in the same opening lap, René overtook Dall’Agnol around the outside of turn 1 and propelled himself behind race leader Egozi to P1. Meanwhile, Ean was also making moves and overtook Sztuka to sit behind his teammate in P6.

The following lap saw René closing in on Egozi more, despite his pending penalty.

Throughout the course of laps 3 to 9, Alceu teetered between P27 and P28. A safety car came out on lap 9, midway through the race, after an Alibhai was out at turn 4, and on the restart on lap 12, Alceu was able to make up another position to P26. As a result, Alceu was promoted to P22.
