MP Motorsport adds Burnett to finalise its 2026 F4 Spanish line-up

15-year-old karting sensation Jensen Burnett has joined MP Motorsport to complete its line-up in the 2026 F4 Spanish Championship. The young Canadian is the final element in the Dutch team’s six-car effort ready to kick off the season at Valencia this weekend.

Before signing with MP, Burnett completed his first Formula 4 miles in the E4 Spanish Winter Championship, racking up a string of points scores, with an encouraging sixth at Motorland Aragon as his best result. Ahead of that in February, the youngster also took in a round in the Formula Winter Series, in which he qualified a stunning third for his first-ever F4 race before claiming a sixth in the weekend’s sprint race. Now he moves over to MP Motorsport as the sixth and final addition to an exciting all-rookie line-up for the team’s F4 Spanish Championship challenge that also includes Dutch trio Kasper Schormans, Rocco Coronel and Felipe Reijs, Polish teenager Borys Łyżeń and French driver Louis Cochet.

“I’m really pleased to be able to join such an accomplished team as MP Motorsport”, said Burnett. “They have been frontrunners in the F4 Spanish Championship since its inception, delivering many champions in the process, so I’m well placed to come up with the goods. In the remaining time leading up to our first race weekend, I will continue to work hard to fully integrate myself in the team, in order to arrive at Valencia with guns blazing. It’s going to be a great season!”

“Jensen joining us for this year’s F4 Spanish Championship is great news”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “In the Spanish Winter Championship, we’ve been able to watch his progress at first hand, and we liked what we were seeing. I’m fully confident that he will be among the cornerstones in our line-up of 15-year-olds all eager to show their mettle against the more experienced drivers in the championship. It’s our mission to allow them to shine, and we’re all ready for that.”

Burnett was a pacesetter throughout his karting career, having lit up the local Canadian and US karting tracks at Mini and Junior levels earlier in the decade. A particular highlight was winning the 2021 ROK Cup Superfinal at Mini level, before Burnett expanded to incorporate a European programme from 2024 on. Claiming a strong ninth in the 2025 CIK-FIA Karting World Championship was the crowning result before Burnett decided to make the step up to single-seaters.
