MP Motorsport and Sorama join forces to support Dutch talent

MP Motorsport has entered into a multi-year partnership with Sorama, a Dutch IT company specialised in acoustic technology for a wide range of applications. Together, they want to build a sustainable and innovative partnership in which their support of Dutch talent plays an important part.

MP and Sorama will be working together in numerous areas over the coming years. First of all, the Sorama logo will be visible on one of MP's F2 cars and the F3 car of Red Bull junior Mattia Colnaghi, while the logo will also appear on all cars raced by Dutch talents supported by the new Accelerating Dutch Talent programme. MP set up this programme in collaboration with the Dutch motorsport federation KNAF. Sorama will receive plenty of attention on the team's website and social media channels, while MP will also support a line of promotional items.

However, sponsorship is only one facet of the partnership. MP and Sorama will jointly organise partner meetings and business events during Grands Prix and at MP’s workshops in Westmaas and Ripollet, Spain. In fact, Spain will have a special place in the partnership, as MP will be using Sorama technology in the Spanish F4 championship. This will be followed by a phased roll-out in the other championships in which MP competes. In addition, MP Motorsport will investigate the use of Sorama measuring equipment at the legendary Genk karting track, which became part of the MP Group last year. Furthermore, both parties will seek opportunities for sustainable innovation grants while working together on MP Motorsport’s FIA Sustainability accreditation. Emissions reduction, combating energy loss and improved noise monitoring wille ach contribute to FIA’s 3-star accreditation.

“The contact was established through MP driver Richard Verschoor, who saw opportunities for applications in motorsport for our sound camera technology," said Rick Scholte, CEO of Sorama. “Together with other MP partners, we held the ‘Sound of Success’ symposium on the eve of the Qatar Grand Prix at the end of 2025, which turned out to be an inspiring evening filled with live demonstrations of our certified Sorama technology. This allowed us to demonstrate how our ultrasonic inspection tools are able to detect subtle deviations in rotating parts and how our sound cameras can locate the smallest exhaust cracks within seconds. Motorsport serves as a factory on wheels. Due to the extreme degradation in motorsport, our AI will learn in weeks what will take years in industry. In short, motorsport is the perfect platform on which to showcase our technology and its capabilities of reducing emissions and improving performance and reliability in various sectors – including motorsport itself. Enough reason for us to enter into discussions with MP, and at the beginning of this year, we reached an agreement on our future collaboration.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Sorama," says Maarten van Wesenbeeck, marketing manager at MP Motorsport. “Motorsport is all about winning innovation, and so is Sorama. Our organisations are about the same size, we both like to move quickly and we are both Dutch. That’s why we think it’s great that Sorama specifically supports Dutch racing talent through the Accelerating Dutch Talent programme. At the same time, we are two internationally oriented and diverse organisations, so that’s one more thing we have in common. Just like at MP, Sorama has more than ten nationalities from all over the world working for them, which fits in perfectly with the global nature of motor racing.”

Sorama uses its acoustic monitors and cameras to create ‘the right sound’ for every application. Sorama’s solutions combat noise pollution in various industrial sectors, but are also able to detect gas leaks and carry out industrial inspections. Sorama has clients in the energy sector, the F&B industry, manufacturing companies, the oil and chemical industry, the medical sector and construction, among others. Sorama’s headquarters are located in the dynamic working environment of the former Philips factory at the Strijp-T tech hub in Eindhoven.
