Leading Dutch motorsport outfit MP Motorsport is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a new book covering the team’s rise to prominence in international single-seater racing. Titled A Unique Racing Family, 30 Years of MP Motorsport, the 352-page book was officially launched at the team’s Dutch Grand Prix party last Friday and is now available for purchase in the team’s webshop.

Through detailed coverage of every season from 1995 to 2025, the book chronicles MP Motorsport’s history from its humble beginnings in Formula Ford and karting to its current status as the world’s largest single-seater team, running 24 cars in six categories that include the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship, the Eurocup-3, the F1 Academy and the F4 Spanish Championship.
The book was created by the experienced AUTOSPORT.NL team of Mattijs Diepraam (author), Gerrie Hoekstra (production), Jiska Hoekstra (design) and René de Boer (sub-editor). The new title is a follow-up to the 20 Years of MP Motorsport book, which was also written by Diepraam and published in 2015. However, this new book covers the team’s entire 30-year history in a variety of new ways.

“It’s been an incredible journey”, said team owner Henk de Jong at the launch. De Jong has been the driving force behind the team since 2005. “When I took over, the team ran a single car in the local Formula Renault series – just look at us now! The last ten years have been memorable and spectacular in terms of growth and success. This story deserves to be told in a new book that also shows how we have come full circle with our recent expansion into karting – the first motorsport love of my life.”
“I love how this book focuses on the people”, said team principal Sander Dorsman, who has led the team for around 20 years. “You need a touch of madness to be part of this close-knit bunch of motorsport enthusiasts who will do anything to win. We have very little staff turnover, and many drivers also choose to stay with us as they progress up the single-seater ladder. That speaks volumes about the unique atmosphere we have created together.”

“It’s been an absolute pleasure to work on this book”, said Diepraam, reflecting on the numerous interviews he conducted with drivers, both past and present, as well as with team staff ranging from series managers, engineers and mechanics to travel coordinators and media and marketing specialists. “The overriding emotion emerging from all those conversations was a sense of family and belonging, and that’s been reflected in the book’s title. The team is also known for being serious when necessary while enjoying themselves at every opportunity. That's why we’ve included a ‘Greetings from’ section in each season review, featuring pictures that reveal the lighter side of a fully professional operation.”

Each of the 30 season reviews includes a recap of the season's highlights, a full list of drivers and results, and several relevant interviews. A common theme throughout the book is the ‘Racing Family’ concept, which illustrates how the team’s sense of family extends to actual family members becoming part of the team.
The 352-page hardcover book is now available for order in the team’s webshop at € 47.50: https://www.mpmotorsport.com/product/30-years-mp-motorsport-book
