Lammers steps up for maiden Eurocup-3 season with MP Motorsport

René Lammers will remain with MP Motorsport for his promotion to Eurocup-3 in 2026. The talented 17-year-old from Zandvoort steps up after a successful F4 Spanish season that saw him challenging for the title until the final weekend.

In 2025, Lammers ran second in the F4 Spanish title race all season and would have been a closer title challenger if a run of bad luck had not hampered his early-season progress. Despite losing no less than three victories through post-race penalties, Lammers still recorded four wins, nine podiums and a fastest lap, and wooed the crowd with his racecraft by making up more places than any other frontrunner during the season, often with spectacular and decisive overtaking moves. Lammers joins Gianmarco Pradel and Ean Eyckmans in MP’s Eurocup-3 line-up, with a fourth announcement to follow soon.

“It’s great to remain part of the MP family for my next step up the single-seater ladder”, said Lammers. “It makes sense to make the move up in an environment that has become very familiar to me in the past two seasons. What’s even better is that MP has been the leading team in Eurocup-3 last year and knows all about winning in this series. Together, we aim to make similar waves this season. I’m ready for it, and I know the team is too.”

“It’s an absolute joy that René will stay with us as he progresses to Eurocup-3”, said Sander Dorsman, MP Motorsport’s team principal. “He truly deserves this promotion after having driven his heart out in F4 Spanish last year. His attacking style was a pleasure to watch, and I’m certain that style will translate well to the more powerful Eurocup-3 cars – in fact, I believe they will suit him even better. We will face some strong competition in the series this year, but we relish a good fight, as does René, so bring on the new season!”

In 2024, Lammers graduated to Formula 4 after a highly successful karting career. In the Minis, the teenager won the WSK Euro Series, the Andrea Margutti Trophy, the Trofeo d’Estate and the Trofeo d'Autunno in 2020, while a year later, at the same level, he bagged the titles in both the WSK Super Master Series and WSK Champions Cup. Moreover, in the X30 Juniors, he repeated his Andrea Margutti Trophy victory in his very first race at Junior level. Moving to OK Junior in 2022, Lammers finished fifth in the FIA World Championship from a P30 start, while in 2023, the young Dutchman immediately advanced to OK karts in which he became FIA European Champion, FIA Vice World Champion and FIA Rookie of the Year.
